Rep Power: 0 2003 WRX to 2004 Civic LX Coupe..Hi!
A year ago, I traded my '96 GS-R with a WRX Wagon. Having been an owner of Honda/Acura since 1992, I wanted to try a different flavor, I said to myself.
With the gas prices soaring (and it will never ever go down again), and having an average of 23MPG city/highway WRX and just using it to and from school/work, I cannot justify the cost of owning it. I have to re-prioritized my life, I guess I'm getting old.
When I saw the 2K4 at the dealership yesterday, it was more than what I've expected. I really love the quality of the interior vs my WRX. The transmission of the Civic LX is way more than better than the WRX. The WRX tranny, you would have to pray to your creator to get it into reverse. The build date of my Civic LX was April 24, 2004 with a mileage of 6. I guess Civics doesnt last that long in the dealership lot.
I wanted a white color, but the dealership only have Silver or Black. I hate having to deal with swirls on black car so Silver will do it for now. I wasnt really picky on any color just as long its an LX Coupe.
I wanted an HX (44MPG), but Honda didnt wanna compete with themselves (the Hybrid Civic) and did no release it yet and I wasnt able to get one. I finally closed a deal for a 2004 Civic LX Coupe with 5-spd yesterday; hence, my username. It took me an hour and a half at the dealership and I was on my way home...no regrets with trading my WRX.
For the people who keeps complaining about how slow the Civic is, it is meant to be slow. Civic is an economy car, not a almost-race-ready car. If you want a faster car, maybe you cant at least get a NEON SRT4. But you have to set your priorities straight, MPH or MPG? As for myself, its the later.
My license plate frame on order:
"Miles per Gallon, NOT miles per hour"

Rep Power: 296 Good story. Cant imagine going from a WRX to a Civic...Never been a huge fan of the Scoobies but they are growing on me (best friend is an avid scooby owner, has an STi, had WRX but totalled). I was however looking at the wagons the other day thinking, i like those alot more than the sedans, I really like the wagons, and I HATE wagons, HAHA. The civic is really a damn good looking car, espcially for what they are, economy car like you said.
Yes, the civic is slow but like you said, its meant to be slow and i think it looks damn good getting there.
Congrats on it all. Welcome to the boards.

civic01vtec, I constantly laugh by myself, at myself, for being slower than I used to be. I would miss the rumbling sound of the WRX exhaust than it's BPV. I didnt get a BOV so I got the OEM by-pass valve.
2k2EXCOUPE, I used to live in Japan and one of the nicest cars out there are the Wagons. As soon as Impreza came out with a wagon, fell in-love and started fixing it.
Here are their pictures.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone.

order of slight mod in order of preferences:
-Lowering springs (Tanabe?!)
-Wheels/Tires (Is the price of RAYS justified for a Civic LX?) Im leaning on ROTA instead.
-OEM Aero Kit
-Front Grill (Any available yet?)
...done.

I'm growing backwards As you grow older, you should be able to know your priorities. IMHO, growing old is not about having more power on my car. Its about getting a house, and finishing my Masters degree. After that, I can re-prioritized my life again, maybe a G35 at least But yeah, being young is all about showing off what we have [most especially, the cars that we drive]. Been there done that. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those kids who inherited a house or a car and/or money for college. I have to work for every little penny in my pocket.
Can you tell I'm that old?

Rep Power: 0 I definently have to agree with 518 on his purchase. I bought when civic when I realized there was more to life then my car, but a civic is still a car and can have fun with. While my friend lease BMW's and Jaguars, but they rent apartments and I have my own home in a nice quiet neighborhood and most of all I am happy and not always broke like they are.
Anyways Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the site!!!!

Rep Power: 0 Welcome bro. You made the right choice. Some of us civic bro's (like myself and blk4blk2k1) are a couple years older than you and love our civics!

Anyway, thank you for the welcome. I'm glad to know that there are members here who are on my age level, but that doesnt really matter just as long as everyone communicates like a mature individual.
I cant believe Hayame coils isnt available yet, I cant stand the height of my Civic.

Dec. 24, 2004 Update.
After 7 months of owning the 2004 LX, I finally sold it. It was sold for $13,000 but I owe $13,203.69 on the loan. Why I sold it? I figured I can use the extra cash after buying a townhouse in Upland. The buyer was so excited about the sale. He was so excited about my civic and you wouldn't think he also owns an 04 SLK230 Kompressor with AMG Package and an 04 CLK320. According to him, the tranny on my 04 Civic shifts better than his Kompressor.
These mods were included with the sale.
17" Motegi Racing FF7 Black w/ polished lip Toyo Proxes 215/45/17
OBX Racing header
Manaflow exhaust
RandomTech hi-flow cat
Revo SS
Titanium Tint
Sony Xplod MP3 HU
Sony 12-CD Changer
OEM Rubber Floormat
OEM Mud-Flaps
OEM Cargo Net
B+G Full Coil-over
SPC Camber Kit
OEM Parts were included with the sale too.
Im driving a DA Integra, time for a swap.

Let me reiterate, I sold my 7th gen on the 7th month of ownership
Jan. 14, 2005, I was able to buy a white 1993 240SX hatch. And no, I did not buy this due to drift mania. It jus happens that this is the first car that came along which is within my budget and a mechanic owns it.

Im gonna miss the 32MPG city driving. This 240SX is 22MPG. But hey, I dont pay any monthly payments. That should cover the gas expenses.
TEIN Basic would be the first mod at least.
