Civic coupe LED tail lights
Civic coupe LED tail lights
Alright fellas...let's see, after slapping in my HID kit, I got to thinking...hey, it'd be nice to see if I could get some fancy LED tail lights while I'm at it. Though, I've never heard of LED tail lights being made (even as mods) to civics. Now, if they do not exist, then I guess there's a good reason. But...if I just haven't searched the right places, then I guess that's where, hopefully, you guys come into play.
I'll admit I was too lazy to search the entire forum for LED links, but the couple of posts I did search through, I couldn't find anything related to this. Do any of you know of a good place to find LED tail lights for a 2001 Honda Civic Coupe? I'd be really curious to find out more about em.

never heard of them.... maybe you will have to make them which i wouldnt think would be too hard, well u might wannna get a diff kinda headlights to start with cause u will need to drill and wire n ****..., should be a fun project tho, if u get the right kind to start with it will be easy and of course will look good too
funny you say that. I guy I know that I talked to yesterday said he just started his own custom LED light business. he said he could probably hook me up with some for my car but I dont know if there is anything like that around where you live??
Synikal,
Hmm...I'm near Atlanta, GA, in a northern suburb actually. I doubt there are any shops that custom taylored to Honda cars around here. But, if your buddy does start up an LED type shop, definitely let me know! I'm interested, though something tells me buying those taillights would not be cheap! $_$

Almost all of my baseball team lives up there.Anyway, I didn't know they made LED replacement bulbs for Civics? I mean, personally, I'd like a whole conversion set of lights seen in a lot of Infiniti cars. I have grown to really like the rear lights of the G35s (coupe and sedan) and I've also noticed LEDs on a Mercedes and even local friggin' stoplights. It's insane. But I do think they react and show up better at night than traditional lights. I just think they're plain cooler than regular bulbs.
I thnk they already do make replaement bulbs. Like you don't need to change your entire light assembly just to have LED's.

Or go to www.google.com and search for LED auto bulbs.

75shot, that's exactly what I'm talking about right there. Those have a similar design to the G35. I think they look quite sleek and badass! I'm going to see if I can search around some on the net for stuff like that, but if you guys come across any for Civics, please let a misinformed bro like myself know!

Wow...I'm just now realizing that you actually took G35 LEDs and modded them. That's pretty impressive shtuff. Nice job dude.

From the first post in the thread.

the post i made is not a part that is available for that car either. it is a custom job. if you want g35 style lights, you'll have to custom it like the owner of that car.
Thanks, guys, for the info. I orignally posted asking about actual conversion lights (like the custom G35 -> Subaru job posted up here) for the civic, not just bulbs. I was thinking about buying some carbon fiber altezza tail lights and using the LED bulbs in them, but after seeing the other LED post and seeing as how those replacement bulbs are illegal, I guess I'll just opt for the altezzas with standard bulbs. :/

www.clearcorners.com might do them custom if you contacted them
Id actually thing it would be easy to make led tail lights similar to the G35 but in the horseshoe shape of your tails. i was gonig to make some for my rear turnsignals. basically i wanted to fill the whole turn signal houseing on my sedan with leds. to make a long story short you take leds and make a houseing in the shape ( maybe styerphome?) you want them to be ( for example the horseshoe shape), open yout tail lights, and you mount the leds in it and wire them up with resisters then connect it to the tail light power.
