Just splice the wires into the parking light wires instead of the headlight wires. that way they will come one with the parking light. There are a few ways to secure the ring to the chrome. 1) you can drill very fine holes and thread some kind of fishing wire or metal wire to hold them in place. This would be the easier way to do it. 2) you can use superglue/goop/some kind of glue to hold the ring in place. With such a big ring the surface area touching the chrome will be minimal so I suggust the first one. I believe you will have plenty of room to run the wires through the headlight hole, which is not the case with the parking light. As you can see i had to take mine out. Aslo try to get the LEDs in the LED washer lights. They are bright and have resistors on the wires already. You will need two pairs. Just crack the plastic and they pop right out. Anymore questions hit me up.

now it woudl suck if i cut up my headlights and put them in only to have them burn out in 3 days.
can i ask how u guys did the resistors?
i used 220 ohm resistor as stated by the DIY
i wraped the ends of the resistors together like so.

having them in a chain (one after the other) makes the light dimmer. so i did it as above
my question is this ok to do? i dont want it to burn out after i introduce it to 12V power. it seems to work fine on my 9v battery.
how did u go about doing it? ironcow / speedracersong / rob / or anyone else
thx,
mike

I would assume it would be fine bro. I had a resistor attached to each LED and it seems like you have both resistors tied together to induce a 24ohm resistance, or atleast that is what you are hoping. I am assuming it will be fine. Mine haven't blown out yet! good luck and I can't wait to see pics. I did some rings with my boy tonight and he has color changing LEDs (red, blue, purple). They are gonna look bad a$$. keep us informed

i had it all done and put in. i put the rings around the stock headlight bulb. looked very nice!! my ring was 4 inches in diameter so it wasnt too close the to bulbs. but after about an hour of driving around the rings decided to melt onto the bulbs thus cooking my bulbs and having them explode inside my headlight in a burnt goey mess.!!
so i ordered new TYC projectors. hopefully wen i do the angel eyes to the new projectors this wont happen becusae it will be around the high beam, which for the most part is never on.
just a heads up. and i hope no1 else tries to put the DIY angel eye around or near the stock headlight bulb

good luck with the tycs and post some pics.
Ok, if nobody has done this on their TYC projectors yet, I'm going to do it this week and try to post a DIY. I have the curtain rod and I'm going to Radio Shack tomorrow so as soon as I do this I'll write up the directions.
I don't think we'll need pics since most of them are already on that website, but I'll take a couple just of the TYC's in progress

I was just thinking, I'm not sure if this would work, but what about the industrial outdoor tube lights? I have it in huge rolls.. It comes out as a white, but I'm not sure if it can get shaved down so the tubing is smaller and maybe so the colour is blue or whatever. Just an idea that I had and I'm not too sure it would work!
I think I'm gonna do this DIY around my parking light when I black my housing of my stock lights!

has anyone ever heard of cold cathode..
it comes in any color and it is very bright all the way through...
on the computer i just built the fans all have cold cathode light rings...
they are about 2-1/2---3 inches and ithink they would be pppppppuuurrrfffeeecctt for this diy if any one can wire them im
not sure if it will work but it is an idea..
cold cathode is the same thing that they use on under body kits it is bright as ****. only on these fans it is a way smaller tube...
the fans are 10 doll hairs at any frys or comp-usa..
if this helps great if not o well its worth a try

That sounds good too acidbaby! I'm gonna look into the cold cathodes and maybe see if I can rig something up.. I'll take pictures and see if it works!

I was just looking at some pictures of cold cathodes here and they are a constant light throughout the ring. I think the DIY has a bit cooler of an effect with the notches in the plastic ring. I was only planning on doing this on the parking light also, so I think the fans would be a bit too big if I were to take the tube off. Unless you could make it smaller. Just my .02!
So according to those prices I could make the interior of my ride a club looking area! Chicks would dig it, lol, I'm such a loser! But really, how would you wire one of those if say I wanted to put a 4" cathode under the dash or in the vents in the dash?

if you want to do that^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
street glow is the best they sell all the right sizes for your dash..and they are the brightest...
but im gonna look into getting these lights wired into my headlights ...
ill get back to ya on this to tell you if it works

There was a thread before.. It was either here or at team-integra.net.. Some guy used a bunch of those REALLY bright LEDs for his interior and it worked really good!
I heard if you use that wire **** from Street Glow that it melts if you put it behind the vent.. If you did that with these LEDs, I guess they can withstand the heat and they are very bright.. Just an idea!
