Interior dome light dont work

Hello,
I am new to this forum and I am a new owner of a 2004 Honda Civic VP and I have an issue with my interior dome light. I brought a new bulb and it didn't work. Then I checked the fuse (#3 fuse in engine compartment 7.5A) and replaced the fuse, still no light. I am like WTF is going on with this. This is a base model Value package Civic. Anyone else have or had this or a similar issue with this?

Test in the light socket.

Is there 12v power on one side? Is there a ground on one side?

Re: Interior dome light dont work

I had a similar issue with my dome light. Used my multimeter to determine that I was not getting any voltage at the bulb. I took the dome light completely apart and did a continuity test and found my switch wasn't making a connection from it being worn. Cleaned the switch mechanism and everything is working fine but it may need replacing in the future just from use.

Take it apart and see what you can find.

Thanks I will test it to see if it's even receiving power. Good advice.

I know I'm late but it was the actual housing. I ordered another piece and it took me less than a minute to put the new one back in. Its works like normal now.
