Projector Retrofit, High Beam Problem!

Hey everyone. Ok so I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find a solution for this problem.
I just finished a Morimoto projector retrofit, came out great, but I can't get the high beams working.
I have an 05 EM2, so I have bulbs dedicated to high beams and a separate set of bulbs dedicated to my projector low beams.
Heres where the fun begins. Due to the fact that I live in Canada, I have DRL's which normally wouldn't be a problem, except in a Civic (I'm convinced)
Basically, I have 2 wires that run to my high beam bulb. One seems to run positive power to it, and the other negative. There is NO GROUND wire coming out of the high beam bulbs.
One wire has power all the time, regardless as to whether the high's or DRL's are on or off. And the other wire has half power when the DRL's are on, FULL POWER when the low beams are ON, and NO POWER when the high beams are ON. - So when I tap into my high beams for my projectors, I essentially get the reverse effect of what I want. When my low beams are turned on, the projector will be in high beam mode, and when I switch to high beams, the Projector switches to low beam mode... I could just wire up a switch, but if it can be avoided then I'd rather do that.
Hope someone can help..

Thanks guys.

You do know our cars are ground switched, right? So there are times when you won't have a ground.

Re: Projector Retrofit, High Beam Problem!

his drl system makes it way more complicated tho. with a normal civic, he could just ground the solenoid to the chassis and hook the power to the hi beam power wire. wait have you tried if the solenoid works at 6v? i have a feeling its a pwm kind of setup (not a constant 6v) tho in which case it wouldnt work. if you have an account at hidplanet, send a pm to member 'stupidpig' who has an 8thgen but i think he found a workaround for the drls on separate hi beam. its very similar to the 04-05.

Ok sounds good. Haha I think I've stumped TRS as well lol. I've been emailing back and forth with them and they can't seem to figure it out either. I'll send Pig an email. Thanks for the help. Hope to post pics soon
