So I bought this civic just a few months ago. It's an '02 ex sedan. It is mostly stock with a few exterior exceptions. So, I have noticed that the passenger side headlamp unit is turning yellow. It's pretty nasty, and certainly makes my car look bad, especially at night. I'm curious if anybody has any ideas what would cause the headlamp to turn yellow, and how or if it can be prevented, if possible? Or any other words of wisdom that anyone would like to share.

oh yea, i read that thread: how to fix headlight haze. I figured it didn't necessarily apply to my problem. But what do I know. Can you tell me Riceboy, is this a common occurrence, or am I just one of the few lucky one's who has a discolored headlight?

Nah, it's fairly common. I've had to "fix" it on my aftermarket projectors, step-mom's MB E420, bout to do the same on my cousin's 02 focus, and seen it on many, many more cars.

Hazing of plastic lens happens to all cars that have plastic lens and aren't properly cared for.
(Properly cared for meaning, washed at least once a week, and kept in shade/garage)

I believe Meguiars has a whole headlight restoration kit now, though i think that goes for about 15~20 bucks
But plast-x should work just as well

I love all of Meguiars products, ESPECIALLY their NXT Gen Tech Wax 2.0

I took a more detailed look at the head light haze thread, and realized that everything i needed to know was in that thread. My bad! A moderator can delete this thread. ha

use toothpast to clean the headlight plastic, it's better than spending money on restoration kit, I tried it
