Re: LED Tail lights and Load Resistors
Welp, installed the 8thgen 3rd brake light. I mounted it using 3m double sided tape, and a strip of duct tape on the bottom to keep it from moving.. I was stoked when I got the unit and found out that the electrical connections are straight plug and play. In any case, it works perfectly, and without messing with my cruise control module, my cruise control works fine, despite having all LED brake lights

nice. altho i dont remember mine being plug and play on the sedan lol. i had to chop the wiring. maybe coupe is since they made it the same.
for the led module, its made by maxxima and they have a bunch of colors even white. it fit the tyc 194 socket hole without cutting. actually it was a bit loose so i think it will fit the oem lights. search ebay for 'maxxima 3/4 led' or something. they have clear lens or colored lenses.

and this is where I applied the duct tape.

Re: LED Tail lights and Load Resistors
i used a thick bead of silicone for that spot. tape may come apart in the heat over time...which led bulbs do you have for the brakes? those smt ones?

Re: LED Tail lights and Load Resistors
yep. I got the same bulbs for my rear turn signals, too.

7 boards on the side, plus the one on top, 6 LEDs per board.

Hey xriceboyx, was wonderin if you could help me out, im kinda stuck...
I seen you said you had led turn signals and im not trying to do anythign too complicated like in your youtube video, just trying to figure out how to keep the turn signal bulbs illuminated when my headlights are on. Heres what I did so far
1) Simply pluged them in, didnt work obviously
2) Correctly wired in load resistors, leds blinked normally...but didnt stay illuminated (tried multiple load resistors/ radioshacks 1st then superbright's)
3) Purchased the EP-34 Tridon led flasher...blinked, but again, hyperflash was not the problem
4) Had 7440 type(single filament) thought that was the problem, purchased new 7443 (dual fil), leds STAYED illuminated but didnt blink when signal turned.
5) Thought the leds might be polarized so I flipped them during each trial. And tried using load resistors and the new flasher unit together, but to no avail.
HELP?

Re: LED Tail lights and Load Resistors
you want the turn signal to function as a park light and a signal? you would need 7443 bulb and also to modify the socket and wiring. it is only a single filament bulb from the factory. you would need a 3 wire socket (like the brake light socket) and also a new connector with three wires. the extra wire you would have to splice into the parking light power wire (only do this if you use lo power led bulbs, otherwise a filament bulb will cause too much current draw and burn the wiring). while wiring, you need to pay attention to which wire controls the dim vs bright mode, so you have them come on dim for park light and bright for signal.
