Crazy Idea about blackout lights (Plz Read)
I have 2 ideas about custom headlights. Please understand that i am just a newb with an idea so try not to grill me about it ok. But if you like my idea please add to my rep.
Idea #1: Cf headlights
I searched on this site and could not find anything about cf headlights. My idea is to take your stock headlight apart and take the siver reflective thingy (the one that usually gets painted during blacking out) and make a mold of it. Then use the mold to make a whole new headlight reflective housing thingy out of carbon fibre. I read the instruction on how its done on this site http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1033872 it seems fairly simple, if you know wut you're doing. The only disadvantage is the cost of a diy carbon fibre kit. But you could also do multiple things with the extra. But the advantage is it would look really sweet and if you didnt like it you could always go back to the stock chrome reflector. The only problem i could see with this is the parking light reflector but you could solve this with chrome paint or chrome tape
Idea#2: Custom colored headlights
Ok this one is a little simple and everybody has probably thought about it but wut about custom colored headlights. I always thought about it but then thought it would look gay or ricey or gay and ricey. But then i picked up this months (august) issue of superstreet and in the readers wheels or wutever section there is a picture of a EK (i think it might be older) civic hatchback that is white with blue painted headlights and they actually look pretty sweet. I am trying to find a pic but not having much luck. I will post one if i can find it. Or somebody could just chop it in on one of their cars. I would love to see blue housing on a silver civic. Could somebody please chop that.
Idea #3: Halos on oem lights
Ok this really has nothing to do with colored light housing but i think i should bring the topic up. i have 2 ideas and want some opinions. I saw at tigerdirect.ca you can buy 2 8cm wide round CCFL(cold cathode flourescent lights) that run off of 12v for $2 CDN. Would these work as halos even if you wanted to put them on your stock headlights. It might look cool as long as you got it lined up rite with the highbeam. Also has anybody thought of making their own halo light like the one found here http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm and using them inside the parking light hole. I think that would look really sweet you could just black the parking light hole where the halo would be and it would look awesome.
PLEASE POST ANY THOUGHTS

most have been done. someone painted their headlight piece red to match the car, it didnt look good. cathodes in the stock headlights will look terible. as for the cf, they had those on ebay a while back.
finally found these pics. this is how it looks when done right

the colored looks nice, but if i paint my car, im keepin the oem blacked out headlights and getting yellow laminx to go over my headlights to match the yellow fogs
good ideas, my friend had carbon fiber headlights that he got custom made for a 7thgen, cost him $350, but it looked nice as ****, not my cup of tea and not worth the money, when i blacked out mine for lik $4, but anyway, looked good

I got that yellow film for the lights and had a hell of a time with it. One things for sure it is strong as hell, it took me 15 minutes to distroy it after it wouldnt install properly, lol

what did you do lol. you gotta spray both sides with water, and then squeegee it down from the middle and then from the middle down and up to the edges. i put on clear film and you cant even tell its there except for one very small bubble that didnt go away.

You know whats funny I still got the ripped up pieces, they still stick
I think it may be a little harder for my 04 because of a stupid piece on the light, dont know what it is but pretty sure it is for spreading the light or something. Just was in a bad mood and should of waited.
Especially when my girlfriend is over my shoulder bitching about how I love the car more than her

lol you gotta just drop her at the mall then say youll pick her up at night. then you work on the car all day
but for the 04 you gotta cut the film in that bump spot so it can stick.

www.headlightarmor.com is where i got mine precut. its thick, so it protects against rock chips. you can also put wax on the film and it will protect from UV damage (discoloring). and the clear you cant even tell its on.
