thinking of retrofit, has anyone used these projectors?
i know these are kinda old news but they've always looked the best to me. And I just found some with amber reflector instead of clear. Only things I dont like are the bubble dome over the signal and the halo. Im guessing they should be easy to remove. So has anyone done a retro in these with say audi A4 projectors? I think I'm gonna get some and see whats going on inside. The assembly is pretty cheap compared to tyc, only $120 shipped.

on the turn signal reflector, there is a big plastic dome covering it. its clear so its hard to see. but it looks like it could clip off.
i have those headlights but never done anything with them.....u can try TSX projectors with some custom work or valeo A4 should fit easily no cutting nothing

the ones i got are the X3 matrix racing ones. they are old, its just a newer style with orange reflector. tyc has too many light holes, altho they have the best projector for halogen.
and look what i just bid on

i really didnt like them and ended up breaking my pair and just selling pieces of it. one of the projector base came loose and i had no light on the ground, then i took them apart and ended up making it worse. oh well. didnt like the look anyway. light output was better than stock tho, i cant see anything with stupid stock headlights.

why is clear lens important? i want projectors that are DOT and have as little color as possible (just want white). ill let you know tho if i dont win that auction. I was planning to spend $450 total on ballast/bulb/projector
You are going to get some blue anyway....The A4 projector I currently have has 1 inch of blue plus 1 inch of purple on top of white on the wall when my car is parked at around 15 feet away, and they are original, no mod....
Not currently selling but will be soon. I am doing a TL projector retro, just need 2 more steps (the most impoartant steps) I will be done....
Gearbox, forgot to tell you that I am using a different bulb, 85122+ instead of 85122, which is supposed to be whiter when it is brand new and is also subject to color shift across the life span. I've waited and waited until I got a pair of it brand new....So hard to find...

1 inch for the a4? jeez. the pics i saw have no color at all. well i find out if i won those on wednesday. jay i'll let you know then. what can you get? im not too familiar with this stuff and what it means. like whats ece, ecode, fresnel, etc.
I will continue on my TL retor next week....May be I have to remove the solenoid to get a nice fit....BS....
Also need to get a third screw to secure the top for height adjustment...no idea if it should be a fixed part that screw in from the front or a flex part screw in from the rear....
And yes, these A4 projectors should have color....look at the pictures I posted before using 85122 regular bulb....

how are you planning to mount them to the projector and seal it up, is there a special type of putty or something? cause im afraid to use silicon the vapors might damage pieces of it.
I just used RTV silicons(the one that has tartar smell, err) and put a hole lot into the groove (almot used all for both side). Then tighten it by strip and wait for it to dry. This material are waterproofed as they can be used to seal glass and even fish tank. I don't have any leaking problem nor fogging at all.

ya i'll work on that. not sure how everything is gonna work. im also thinking of a way to put an amber lens on the signal part. maybe one of these trimmed to fit? still not sure what will fit, i need to get the lights and start playing.
