Color / Washing modding projectors?
There are 2 ways of modding projectors.
1. Shield Bending - bending the shield.
2. Washer Modding - adding washers (increasing spacing) between the shield and bowl.
You can do one or the other, or both.
The purpose of these mods is to sharpen the cut off line and/or make the cut off line more colorful (not the color of the light; just the cut off line).
Both involve taking apart your headlight housing to reach the projectors.
Shield bending is relatively simple to do.
Washer modding involves unscrewing the projector assembly.

the goal is to move the shield closer to the reflector (and away from the lens). sometimes you can't take the shield off to put washers in there, so you need to bend the metal back with some pliars. it works.

Hmmm, this might be a useful project for me to attempt because currently the cut off line isn't that sharp, neither is the light below the cutoff because it looks like all sorts of weird glare types of crap. These are 04-05 Ebay Projectors keep in mind, so I'm not sure what type of results I should expect...I'll take a picture of it later tonight or tomorrow and post it..
And there is one really odd thing...
The glare that comes off just infront of the car (on the floor) is, and I kid you not, the shape of the bottom half of the batman symbol.
My friends are calling it the batmobile, lol.
Do you think washer or color modding will help to patch these issues?
Thanks for the responses and detailed explainations Likeaferio

lol, unfortunately, those ghosting and swirls below the cutoff are just a sign of bad projector lens. doing the washer bending mod will only change the cutoff line, either by making it more colorful and/or sharper. my tyc is the same way. i think im leaning towards just getting some plain white audi a4 hid and a new pair of tyc and have someone retro em on. aftermarket projector lens is just crap.

I think your right, I just went out and pulled up at the side of my job and they have a perfectly white wall.
What I noticed was the projector cut off was off, drivers side pointed a bit down and the right side pointed way down (talking about angles, rotation)
The ghosting is a pain in the *** though, makes the light look cheap and I'm not sure if its the housing or the projectors themselves, but I get almost no light to the sides of my car, just completely frontal unlike some of the other members pics of their setups.
1) Do you think changing the bulbs would help?
2) Think HID would help the ghosting problem?
3) Think I should just do a retrofit?

Hmm that all depends on the date/time, but would definetly be interested in it.
There are a lot of meets out here for other cars (scoobies and such) behind the Roosevelt Field Raceway theater, but always been interested in going to one for our cars
PM me the info bud

slightly off topic, but will bending the shield be able to reverse the cutoff patern? I ask because we drive on the opposite side of the road here and I wanna get a set of projectors. Unless you guys know of some with 180 deg rotation adjustment (for an 04 civic)?
