Enabling DRLs in 04 civics?

Anyone know how complicated it is to enable DRLs? I've done a search and read that it's not as simple as just putting in a fuse.

enable? there is no such thing, unless you bought your civic in canada. You can buy a kit, and install it if thats what you mean. there are two real types of DRL. one is for the headlights, either the kit keeps the low beam on when you start the car, or it keeps the hi beam on at 6v half power. the newest breed is turn signal drl that keeps the turn signals on in bright mode. these are the best for safety and use less power than headlight drl. thats what i decided for, and pretty cheap too. just over $100 and install is easy.

How about you just give yourself $50 and just remember to turn them on with your car...lol, Or you can redo your harness and have the trigger be your cig lighter not your 9006 plug.

I think with 2 relays it can be done......

ie. 1 relay connects to ignition to have on/off sensing, another 1-in 2-out (one with 87 and 87a) relay, which will give the option of where the electricity goes thru. One of the output is that at normal position (no power from light circuit) the light will be on, but a resistor is put in line so that the light will be dimmer. Another one is just straight thru bulb. I think this works OK with it...

The drawback is that with your key at OFF position, you can't turn on the high beam.....
