successfully wired ebay fogs? *update* fogs installed with pics no 56k
Has anyone successfully wired ebay fogs using the wire harnesses w/o any modification to the wires?
I just bought a pair of fog lights from ebay and the wiring is pretty messed up. I thought it was going to be straight forward but I was wrong. Im thinking of using the relay and the inline fuse from the harnesses and doing my own wiring.
I know for sure that the wiring from the fog lights just past the firewall is fine. I directly connected the lights to the battery and they worked. Its just the part of the wiring from the inside thats confusing and not making sense to me.

Yeah I understand your problem... my solution involved omitting the switch, and wiring it to come on whenever my lights or parking lights come on. I ran my own power wire to the inline fuse that goes the relay, and used the 4 prong connector with the wire coming out of the far right that seems to lead nowhere in the fuse box as the switch wire. You can ground it to whatever ground point you want to as long as everything is actually grounded. I know this may be confusing, I'm headed out now, but PM me if you have questions.
lol i know exactly wat ur talking about. that crap dont fit together correctly. i couldnt do it, so i ripped the switch harness out and chucked it as far as i can and ghettofabbed it.

You can run the relay off of the headlights, so when they turn on the fogs get power. This method doesn't draw any power off of the headlights themselves, as the power coming from them simply tells the relay to open and switches on the power straight from the battery. I have mine rigged up like this for a while now.
I have the same story, im looking for some help aswell, check out my thread http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=255593
are yours like that? i think the problem is that we bought 2001 kits off ebay and the 2003 civic harness is different
