Relay done or wiring needed to be redone?

Basically to start, I will state that I am still a novice in experience and am trying to source out a problem.

A few days ago, my car's battery died. I left it at the shop, who believed they found the problem as my start ground. They reattached/regrounded and threw in a new battery. The next day, my battery died again.

At the shop this day, they pulled my relay for my h.i.ds and everything seemed to be running. Since I don't exactly have the time to source the problem in the next little while, I popped my retrofitted ones out and put my broken stockies back in.

Now I've had the retros for close to 5 months without any snags. I am wondering if perchance I need new relays or if my mechanic was smoking the good stuff. I'll probably know moreso later on tonight after driving around with my stockies to see if the problem reoccurs as I don't see why my relays would have been draining the battery without being on at times.

I say this last bit as once the ABS sensor engaged on my dash I killed all electrical that I could to try and drive more (radio, lights, fogs if on, air circulation, etc etc) - yet I continued to lose power and eventually died completely.

In any event, started the thread to get some feedback perhaps (or perhaps for some to tell me I am a true noob and need to search more )
