interest in interior LED light bars?
I made a small prototype, but the larger ones will be 8x the size and have double the LEDs. I did blue, but others colors like white, red, pink etc are possible.
I would price the large kit at $25 shipped for TWO bars ready to be wired. A good alternative to paying that same price for a single led bar at the store. And mine are much brighter.

does it work well? I'm sure there are more creative ways to use these...like... what if you could bend the plexiglass (?) and use it as an outline to accent parts of the car... wowwwwwwww i want to do something like this now...

ya the plexi is thin enough to bend, so i guess you could use it to light up the fender wells
would be great for audio setups in the trunk. i have pieces upto 30 inches long and 2 inch wide so custom shapes are possible.

can you heat it up to get it bent a lot? where do you get this plexiglass, I want to play with it now. Also, where do you get your led's and how much do you pay? One place by me wants 5 bucks for each blue one! Another place was like 1.50 or something, the 5 dollar ones are brighter though. Too bad my brother fried it because he didn't beleive me about using a resistor.

ya they're expensive. i have an overseas supplier so i always get the brightest ones. those blue are 10,000mcd, and i have some white that are 50,000. i can't spare any now because of projects, but when i get the next shipment I'll send you some for cheap. I get em for around $1 a piece when i get bulk.
the plexi is thin enough that you can bend it but it always goes back to straight. its pretty flexible. check out some hardware stores like home depot, lowe's, etc

do you sell those leds and resistors? cause I bought 100 leds with resitors on ebay, and they are total junk, they always go out, probably the resisters are too low ohms, anyways i would like to buy some from you cause your leds are probably better quality. if you don't want to sell them seperatly, then how much would you charge to ship 2 bars like that to canada? thanks.
By the way, that is fu**in bright, hehehe

i actually bought the ebay pink leds for my cluster projects and they work great. Are you sure you used the right resistor? Don't blame the led for your install. And remember your car puts out 14.4v when on, not 12. That does make a difference.

did you try them at 14.4 volts?
mine worked too for few days, then one would go dim, then the other, then sometimes they wouldn't come on at all, then finnaly completly died. I had 2 on top of each foot, and i replaced them like 3-4 times and always same problem.

wow hmm maybe i gotta do some testing and just leave one connected to the battery overnight. that wouldn't drain would it?

i'm not sure, but for most of my projects I use 4 in series so the resistor i need becomes one 68 ohm for the whole 30+ leds. cause they're wired in parallel so its like having 4 leds and thats it, with each one sapping some power. like if each led has 3v forward voltage and you have 4 in a row, then at 12v power you dont need a resistor.
Crack kills... But then again... So do I...

If you can make a kit for air vents I'd be very interested. Also quick question are these prewired with an inline fuse, does it not need one, or if I was to buy the kit would I need to wire it to a fuse before connecting it to a power source?
