projectors for oem headlights retrofit
i've read a bunch of threads of what members are using in their retrofit on the tyc headlights but i want to do a retrofit into some oem headlights. so what would be some good projectors to use i was thinkin some S2000 or tsx projectors any ideas ?? also what ballasts should i use etc.
if you have searched correctly on this you wouldve found out s2k projectors are too big for our housing unless you customize something. tsx projectors can work but im not sure and i believe they compose of low and high beam which is good for you 2001-2003 guys. then there are bosch and valeo which are good. valeo=wide beam with good light output but not as good as bosch. bosch=brighter than the valeo's and not sure if they are as wide as valeo beams. i would say bosch, valeo, or tsx(if these work). lookin on hidplanet.com. answers are all there

tsx = single xenon.
if you have an 01-03 civic, your choices should be limited to only bi-xenon projectors, but many members have decided to go for single xenon only
it's all personal preference. myself, i have a ZKW bi-xenon projector retrofit into oem housings and i'm happy.
s2000 projectors will fit, but be warned that the s2000s use a custom mount (the projector IS the mount), so when you get s2000 projectors, you will have no holes to put screws/bolts through. the tsx projectors are the better alternative (just as bright and colorful, but not as sharp) if you want to stay single xenon.
i would recommend TL bi-xenons or if you can get LittoDevil to make a pair for you, LS430 bi-xenon projectors. LS430 single xenon projectors are known for their incredibly wide beam pattern, but poor color output. with Larry's (LittoDevil) projectors, he adds a clear lens and a special shield that gives the user excellent color and high beams without sacrificing the width. it's something i'm looking into for the future.

retro into oem headlights...it doesn't look too normal. they're bug-eyed (imo at least). that's why i went the tyc retro route. but if you were to go the oem route, i would suggest getting bi-xenons as infinite said. TL's are pretty much the general consensus on one of the best bi-xenon projectors out to date. s2k projectors have some nice color, but everytime i see a TL the output on the ground is amazing.
i would go and just buy projector headlights off ebay and retrofit those because i have a retrofit done on those headlights and once you have em on yer car they look like they belong there. having to retrofit oem headlights are gonna b a bit of a pain cause then you need to make a shroud which takes more time when you just have a pair of ebay projector headlights where you really just take the old projector slap the new one in with some modifications and your set basically
I just burnt my tongue

im hopefully getting a headlight unit from a BMW E60 5 series with the bixenon setup but its only the passenger side of it so if im able to get it for free (most likley) than im gonna sell it off and get a HID planet bosch projector kit and do a retrofit onto my stock headlights
