HID aiming question?
hey guys, well i got my retro on. I really love the width of the beam. I looked through some of the halogen aiming guides and read its 25ft from the car to the wall and the cut off should be aimed from where the ground to the center of the headlight.
Well i measured 25ft with a tape measure and measured the ground to where the middle line is on the lens of the projector, it measured around 24in.
I had the top of the cut off stop at 24in from 25ft.
Is this the correct way to aim HIDS?
The reason i ask is because people i drive behind always moves out of the way for me. Sometimes people are afraid of driving ahead of me a night. Its kinda nice though, the beam almost hits all four lanes on the really dark parts of the freeway.
When i was in the fast lane, i even had a guy in the slow lane, pull over to the shoulder and waited till i past to start up again.
I'm thinking
1. my hids are aimed too high
2. i'm lowered on stock shocks so there really bouncy causing people to think i'm high beaming them when the cut off raises with bouncy ride

the top of the cutoff (right side, where it's higher) should be aimed 2" lower than the center of your projector from 25 feet out. you have it aimed too high.

When you mean top of the cutoff are you talkin about the far right side where the cutoff starts to turn redish?
I noticed that from far away there kinda blinding with a bluish tint, say around 100ft but 50 and 25ft there not blinding and there more yellow. Is this ok or are they still aimed too high?
I also noticed the light intensity on the driver side seems to be greater then the passager side, even when the lights are the same level. You know why infinite? I got the bulbs used so i'm guessin maybe the passager bulb is a littler older then the driver bulb.

the right side of the cutoff is the part in red:
________/-------------
as for the intensity being different...i have no idea. lol. i always thought that the passenger side would look more intense because it's overlapped by the driver's side beam, but the same could go for the driver's side beam (overlapped by the passenger side). this could be what you're witnessing.
