Exterior Light Help! 02 Sedan

ok, so im pretty new to playing around with the car.

last week i purchased some after market altezza tail lights for my ride and asked the local mechanic to install them for me yesterday. as easy as i hear it is to install them, i figured i would ask a profession to do it, ... bad idea.

he removed the 3 nuts, plastic clip, and light clips from the corner tail lights, and had an EXTREMELY hard time taking off the light. he started to yank from the outside, stab from the inside, and even went as far as using a screwdriver to wrench it out.

the result was :

1. screwed up light frame, bent out of shape
2. lights still hanging on the car
3. stripped nut on one bolt
4. ABSOFUKINLUTELY nothing good done to my car

when i returned to get the car, i was pissed off to say the least. he asked me to bring it by tomorrow and he would try again by taking off the bumper. he "didnt know what was still holding the corner tail light in place".

obviously he didnt see my car today. my Q is, what goes into removing the tail corner lights on a 2002 4dr Civic?

i didn't see a DIY for this. if anyone could provide a step by step w/ pix that would be great.

thanks

this is in the wrong forum.

But anyway, I see why he fuked up. You have to remove the bumper on the sedan to remove the lights. Plus the trunk side trim panel. Then there is a few nuts on the inside you remove and a few underneath the taillight. then it pops out. Since he fuked all that up, make him fix and damage that he did.

your pro is clueless. You need to tell him to pay for the damage, read the service manual, and then go somewhere else.

needless to say, the idiot will never touch my car again.

he offered to install my tail lights, and head lights (when they come in) for free. i said no thanks. more than likely, the car will end up lookin like a hoopty when he's done.

any tips on rear bumper removal? i didn't see any in the DIY's.

^^^ it should be the same for the 2 and 4 door. remove the screw in each rear wheel fender well. then open the trunk and behind the 2 black plastic covers there is a screw to remove then underneath the bumper there should be a few bumper clips to remove. then slowly pull the bumper off from the corner. It will make a snapping noise, but that what it is supposed to sound like.
