HID Help
I been looking at HID lately and i got really intrested. So i think instead of buying heated seats i'm going to buy some HID. What is a good brand and what brands should i stay away from? Does the higher the k as in 10000k brighter than lower ones as in 8000k or is it just different color? I'm going to be geting new headlights for my car i think there H1 bulbs what would i do order then H4 kit and get H1 bulb? Thanks for your help in advance.
I'm sorry if this is a repost but i couldn't find anything about this.

This is the first time I will ever do this.
Wrong Forum :P thats why u can't find anything.
This here

+ search entire site.
The reason you cannot find anything on a search of just HID is because the engine doens't allow searches with 3 or less characters.
but just to give u some starter info, the K is the tempature, search google or something and look for a tempture graph,

from my personal experience Xtec is really good, you can get them through Impulse on this site. stay away from McCulloch, reigning HID king of ebay. Higher kelvin means different color, not brighter...rule of thumb...between 4-6000K are the brightest you can get and anything above 8K is just for looks..you won't get much light output from them. This is just based on my opinion, im sure many will agree or disagree and the reason for that is the differences in brands. A 5000K HID from A brand could appear different than the same temperature from B brand...because one is crap. Decide what bulb you want before you order the kit...bulbs are NOT cheap, usually around $80 each. So get your lights then get your HID's. And again; from my experience...you get much more light output from H4's in stock housings than you do from any brand projectors and H1's...unless you do a lens swap and use DS2 bulbs and what not.

heres my opinion...
if you want a kit thats easy to install and performs well, id suggest ImPulses kit, Xtec.
that rating is from the Kelvin Scale...from what i remember, 5200ish is 'sunlight'.
heres a few things to consider:
OEM ranges from 4200K to 4300K (best overall output)
i have the Xtec H4 kit in 5000K and its brighter than the 6000K (the higher the rating, the less the output)
on the kits above 7000K you can expect two things, less output and a possible citation
if your getting a new set of headlights that take H1 bulbs then get an H1 kit...
you will get the best performance from your stock housings/H4 kit
