9003ST Silver Star High Performance Halogen Bulbs

Last 03/15/04 I bought a set of the 9003ST Silver Star High Performance Halogen Bulbs then in less than 90days one of them went out on me. Fortunately, I was able to get an exchange from Autozone for both since it was less than 90days old.

Well last night one of them went out on me again. Since I cannot exchange it anymore from Autozone, I contacted Sylvania and they will refund me the money I paid, good thing I had the receipt. They could've sent me a new set but I think I'm done with Silver Star since it doesn't last long.

I did find out from Sylvania that the Silver Star has about 150 lamp hours only. I ended up getting just the Sylvania XtraVision 9003, which are nothing great but it has 850 lamps hours.

Just wanted to share with you all.

wow, I actually thought about getting those but ended up w/ some generic hyper white bulbs. Had them for 1 year, and they light up the road really nice...

150 lamp hours only. no way. ive had mine for a couple of months and the damn thing still works.

30min a day * 5 = 150*4weeks= 600*2=1200mins.

150hr*60 min= 9000min. i gotta get hid soon.

yea I had silverstars on my old car, one went out and one didnt so i dont blame the bulb itself, neway I had waaaay over 150hrs, and I had hyper whites in my civic, one went out now I have silverstars, prolly had em in for atleast 3-4months already and they're great.. I HIGHLY doubt its only 150hrs lifespan..

My old sylvania cool blue lasted about 2 years and only one blew out. The silverstars should be the same at least.

Also, Honda has a recall on the harness that causes something to burn the lights. Did you have that fixed?

I was replacing silverstars twice a year on, at $35 cdn (per bulb) with taxes I realized that HID w/ 5 year warrenty on bulbs is acually cheaper

and now I have my HID's and Ive never been happier

if your in Canada and you want to save your bulbs pull your DRL fuse from under your dashboard. running bulbs at at the DTR setting makes em look yellow and kills the life

All I know they (Sylvania) says that average llifespan is about a year, less if you have DRL's ... which either way, NOT GOOD.

All I know is I will never go back to Silver Stars again.
