I am looking for a red neon underglow kit for my car, but i am uncertain on whether LED or neon lamps project light better/longer? Any information on this would be much apreciated. Also, does anyone know of a good website i could buy these off of?

I have friends with both... Kinda!
Spend the extra few bucks and go with LEDs man.

My friend has a store and i went with him to his supplier's warehouse, and they showed us the difference. they took a straight LED and bent the **** outta it, to the point it was in the shape of a "U". didnt break and the LED was working perfectly. Neons break much easier.

One of my friends put a neon kit on his car, and then we went for a cruise on a very clean road, nothing gravel or anything... We drove 20 minutes, and the front and one of the side bars were broken and werent working any more. While another friend of mine bought an LED kit and he's been driving with it on since the snow melted in march/april and not a problem.

Spend the extra few bucks and go LED man, dont waste money on neons, you'll be much happier with LEDs. Oh and as Modify said, LEDs are brighter.

Would it be worth it to run the power of the LED's through a separate battery in the trunk or from the battery in the engine bay?

And Id agree with shmik1, LEDs wont take too much power. An extra battery is not necessary.
Are you gonna be driving around with them on a lot? Regardless, they wont take much power so ya dont need an extra battery

My friend can get you them cuz he has a store but I dunno if you want to pay shipping and everything... We're in toronto, canada, but he said if you want he can write on it that its your "birthday gift" which may avoid duties.

If you buy from him though, his prices are in Canadian... probably looking at 250 CDN which translates about 195 off the top of my head. If interested I can let you know for sure.

whatever ya decide, good luck man

No problem man, and best of luck!
Try to find an "Audiopipe" dealer in your area. Audiopipe makes wicked LED underglow kits. Check their site out, they may be able to help you find a dealer close to you.

EDIT:Oh and BTW, i forgot to mention, their website is www.audiopipe.com
