led taillights - inspired by 7443 thread
so i got some red LEDs on ebay for my turn signals in the rear...they are 7443s i belive but im not sure
when i put them in they changed the rate at which all the lights blinked but the odd thing is that if i put my hazards on it blinks normally but the turn signals are like hyper blinkers now
any ideas?

When you have all 4 signal lights on there's enough resistance to simulate two good bulbs (you still have two incandescent bulbs up front). When the LED's are on for just one side, you have one good bulb and one "missing" bulb because LED bulbs don't have a high resistance value, so it looks like a dead bulb to the car. One bad bulb when signalling = 2x flash speed. I have the exact same situation, but my LED bulbs are up front.
Just a word of caution - in the daytime your rear signals will be hard to see. I had LED bulbs in my brake lights before and my friend nearly rear ended me. I took all my LED bulbs out the rear and replaced with regular incandescents.

i got LEDs for my blinkers in the front and rear. the car picks up the LEDs as not having a bul in there at all, so it makes the lights blink faster. its kinda cool because LEDs just light up instantly, instead of fading when they blink like regular bulbs.
u can my a adapter thing that u conect to the wiring that fixes the rate of the bulbs. its made for LEDs. i personally dont think its worth it to get it.
