Ok...I have an '04 and have some TYC tails that are made for an '01-03. After reading through all of this. There are a number of ways to hook these up. Is the easiest way to replace my '04 wiring harness with an '01-03 wiring harness? Is there more to it then this?

so is there a factory wiring harness that we can buy from honda for the 03-04 switch? I like to keep everything factory looking and clean, and dont like splicing ****.

well, my DIY won't let you do the splicing ****....it's pretty clean overall......but, it might not look that clean for some people...

if you prefer to buy the harness, it's also possible...it's covered in 03-04 DIY switch before my DIY...

the cost of the harness is about $30~$40....not really sure anymore.....one thing though...this harness will actually change the whole harness on the trunk...it's one cable....but it contains a lot of branches...

that's a very interesting way to do it! however, its probably only for those whos willing to cut the pugs.....

btw, just for an update....due to the recent electrical problem in my car, i got the chance to replace the whole wiring into 04-05 wiring!

they can be found on ebay or from your local honda dealership. there are other sources, but a simple search can help you there.

i'll give you a hint, though. there are online shops that carry them for cheaper than your honda dealership, but they themselves are honda dealerships.

when you guys have your lights on at night, is there any light on in the rear other than your license plate lights?

my friend just did the conversion on his 02 civic, and there isn't a light that's on at night, except for his license plate lights. might become a safety issue.

all the lights work though, when braking, signalling, reversing etc.

any help? thanks.

my friends don't light up unless he presses the brakes. when you turn your headlights on, the rear tail lights should light up also, and when you press the brake, the light goes on brighter. but in his case, there is no light on when he has headlights on, only when pressing the brake. might be a fuse, i doubt it though, they were working prior to installation.

wrong bulb? he could be using a single filament when he actually needs a dual filament.
