TYCs are the highest quality projectors made for the civic... The problem is, the tyc projectors are still shitty
I' am using halogen projectors from an audi, and you can obviously see a big difference.

did you ever try just to swap the lenses at TYC and HID projectors instead of doing retro? I was curious if I just file HID lenses in order to fit them into TYC will it work ?

well , what I did is took the tyc projectors out of housing and replaced them with hella HID bi-xenon projectors.
But I was asking if it possible to take only the lenses from TYC projectors and replace them with new lenses from HID projectors, hows sound for you?

Hmm, I dont really know what did you mean under "old magnifying lens", I just took my old TYC projectors, compared with Hella HID projectors and found out that they are almost identical! The perimiter of lenses almost same and Hella fits into TYC with no prob.So why I spent almost a month doing retrofit HID projs into TYC housing if it was much simple just swap only their lenses and get same result, but with no pain on the neck? And actually those lenses are quite simular. What cant I understand?

Are you going to be trying this? I'm currently shopping for HIDs and don't want to get started on the wrong foot (TYC + HID kit), I don't buy crap, but if I can put some Hella Bi Xenons on some TYCs without much hacking, I may try to do it myself. (I'm not too mechanically inclined or patient when it comes to something I want bad)

"..try it and tell us how it goes.." - ohh well, in order just to try I`ll need to get Philips H1 HID kit which it costs $550, so that sound is not right for me right know.Would be better just use stocks with HID at this point.
