3rd brake light deactivation

i'm getting a stock spoiler on my 03 Civic. my question has to do with the back brake lights. right now i have the one on the back window and i will have the one on the spoiler too. how do i deactivate the one on the back window so only the spoiler brake light will light up? i'm sure many of u have done this before too. so can anyone explain to me how this works? thanks.

When the spoiler is installed you will use the plug that connects to the 3rd brake light to operate the spoiler brake light...hence you wont need to do anything...you can only use one at a time

For mine I just unpluged the connector thing to the 3rd break light so the 3rd break light didn't light up.

I unplugged the one that goes to the third barke light, and used that plug to plug in my spoiler's 3rd light. I have since taken the oem spoiler off so now my 3rd light is back up and running.

when body shops install aftermarket spoilers and stuff, they splice the wires... making it so that both lights up, factory installed spoilers only the spoiler lights up

well see, they didnt JUST disconnect the wire to the third brake light, they covered it with what looks like a limo tint or something but ive seen other Canadian Si's and other coupes which dont have this. does anyone else have this, where Honda decided to black out your third brake light?
