I got TYC chrome tails form a member here for 60 bucks about a month ago and I knew that I would do something to them before I put them on. I was thinking of taking out all the red from inside some how to leave them completly clear but I dont know how to get them open.

Did anyone open up TYC taillights here before? If so, how did you do it? Or if you didnt, have any recommendations?

maybe you could do it the same at when headlights are cleared...?

I tried but the seal is different, there is no place to stick a flat head under to pry it open a little. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

I hope I get some tips on how to do it cuz I really want to try it out with the tails and since I got em for 60 bucks ruining them wont feel that bad.

Okay, and if I were driving behind you, I wouldn't know when you were braking and crash into you. LOL

If you want to put the TYC tails on, then just leave them the way they are. Get really bright bulbs though, because that is what I did. I always want people to know if I'm braking.

I dont really like the chrome TYCs, I got them cuz they were cheap and I wanted to do something with taillights that no one has done. All these car experts on this site and no one could give me a good idea on how to get those lights open..

use a demel or other similar tool and cut them open then 2 ton epxoy them back together might work might not but you said you didn't care if you ruin them. it would be a cool mood just time consuming.

people will think ur backing up at a stoplight too... don't do it... save urself the problems that come with it... cause i gaurantee as soon as the first cops that comes by see's you... he's gonna bust ur *** like he did in the hooker the night before

If some how I do clear the lights completly and it looks like crap and I get pulled over then I will smoke them out. Either way I'm doing somethign to them before I put them on. Smoking them out will look tight cuz the lighting pattern will be different but I'm definatly trying to clear them first.
