shouldn't they be wired on their own switch instead of coming on when the parking lights do ?

they have their own fuse that comes with it. and they have their own switch, it is just that the switch doesnt work unless the parking lights are on (you know just like factory lights.)

what for wires are there.......12v, ground and a power supply.....right ?

the power supply u have run to the parking light trigger u said. But u should be able to turn them on w/o the lights on and the ignition on. Use a test light to find a wire that is hot when the ignition is on.

Use a relay, not a direct wire-in to the parking lights.

I had mine connected to the blinker/running light...maybe thats why they only lasted a year or so.There was a switch so they woild only work when I turned the lights on...Is that wrong?

not sure how my oem ones are wired, but i believe that it is wired into the actual headlamp lowbeam wire. you can only turn them on when the headlights are fully on, and when you brighten your hl, they come off. they were on the car when i bought them from honda. now that i am getting a kit put on, again, they will be gone, again. anyone have any idea how hard it'd be to remove the entire wiring and relays and such from the oem ones? they are in the way when you dont have anything there, just dangling wires.

Fuse

The fuse should have blowed wired that way. The fuse for your
lights is set to power just your parking lights, when you wired
your new fog lights into circuit then the parking light fuse had to
pass enough current for both lights. There is the reason for your
blowen fuse, it didnt have enough current rating to pass the current
load.........
