If you use the Sonar brand lights, the stock mounting threads (on bottom because the top is held by a stationary plastic ball) lined up perfectly with the S4 projectors. I just figured out the pitch of the threads, bought a tap and die set and threaded the holes in the projector. As for the top, the plastic ball setup wasn't going to work, but there were two thin metal tabs with holes so I tapped the plastic itself, put threaded rods through them (trip to Home Depot) with nuts on the end to hold the rod still and viola. The halo LEDS have been replaced with MUCH brighter ones too.

things dont connect aswell as it seems with TYCs... You will have to sand/cut part of the valeo, and the tycs
The projectors that you origionally had (aftermarket ones) are A LOT bigger then the valeos, the TYCs are smaller = less room to work with

Voice, the stock projector photos you posted in another forum looked exactly like the ones I had. I'll try to find pics of mine before I put them in. The valeros look much bigger than mine. I've heard the Audi TT projectors are among the smallest available.

how was your stock projector held on?
the tycs have 2 black clips on the projector for adjuestment
it looks like i'll have to cut up the valeos and superglue/silicone/weld the tabs on, so it will stay

if you did, you can't aim your lights!
it's not a true retrofit unless it works like the way it's suppose to!

ughh....ok
You can call mine a retroasscrack if you want, they're still HID's.
But, no, I can adjust mine. Thats why I said "I've heard".
But who needs to aim em'? Thats why your mirror has that flip down function.

My projector was so large I had to cut it. To be honest I never finished sealing it because I was going to wait to paint the insides and it has NEVER fogged up.

and stop saying that moisture will lessen the life of the bulb, my step dad has the
2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, That jeep is meant for tuff turean, and guess whats behind the headlight? NOTHING, its not even sealed. Yea moisture can get in anywhere... But moisture also needs a way to get out. It took me weeks of research before i started this project

if moisture doesnt effect the bulb then why cant you touch it huh.
the bulb has to stay clean to or it does affect the life of the bulb.
any bulb at really high temp has to be clean or it will affect the glass or crystal it is made with....

water just evaps and turns into fog
The Rubicon uses sealed beam headlights, as do all other Wranglers. There is no seperate bulb and housing, the whole unit IS the bulb. It's a totally different type of lighting than is in our civics. I know, I had a Jeep.
Water will not lessen the life of the bulb itself if it gets on the glass, but it can mess up the terminals on the back of the bulb.

simply rip them out and replace with oem projectors, and you are set!

nice but it doesnt matter if water gets under the hood the will fog up and look like crap.. moisture will lessen the life of the bulb>
