Rep Power: 0 labor cost to replace shocks
Hey guys, I'm just looking for some numbers on what people have paid in labor to have their shocks replaced.
And for those who have done it themselves is it easier or harder than replacing brake pads/rotors and bleeding the lines?
Thanks

Rep Power: 0 Or if you want to be safe. We did a drop on my buddy's Ranger and didn't use a compressor. Nothing happened, but the potential of having the spring come flying out of there is not worth it. Get the free compressor rental at Autozone and not take the chance. I'll never do an R&R like that again without one.

Rep Power: 0 Thanks for the replies! Sounding like its best to do it myself if I can find the time. I didn't know I could get the spring tool free thats pretty cool. Probably best I do it myself anyway. I've never had a good experience with mechanics on past cars.

Read over the DIY and try to find the compressor to make your life simpler when installing this.

Rep Power: 0 Be sure to get outer tie rod boots, When you use the pickle fork to seperate the tie rod from the strut you'll split it every time, the jobs easy, time consuming with one person but with two it goes quick, be careful when you put the strut plate back on, also some times the bearing seperates from the plate, then you up *** creek, try finding a plate or bearing/ wo the dealer kyb is always special order!!
