so here is how the intake works, you have the intake (tube) and the filter leading to the manifold, which lead the air into the cylinders. right ?
my question is, why the manifold. why cant u just hook up the 4 intake holes with 4 seperate intake tubes and filters., wont that cause more air to flow in.
Just a thought, sound stupid but trying to be creative

Rep Power: 299 You left our one major part in your list.... the throttle body (the valve that opens and closes as
you depress the gas pedal) ...sorry if you already know .
yup its been done individual throttle bodies are way expensive.

Rep Power: 350 I need a Throttle body....
Why cant someone mass produce one allready!!!
Id buy one from DH-Racing but its so expensive!
Comparing the custom intake manifold to their billet TB...that price for the TB is ALOT!

Rep Power: 0 Yeah i wanted to get an new mani, and a tb, and the TB is the same damn price as most manifolds for our civics... the prices really need to drop to something reasonable so more people can afford this stuff

Rep Power: 0 the focuz intake manifolds look way better than dh-racings, at least drop the price or something my local shop charges 300 for the intake manifold, the focuz one. u guys are offering 450 just for the intake manifold. I'd buy it in a heartbeart if it was 500 shipped. your almost spending a grand for both the throttle body and intake manifold plus u have to get custom pipes, I will for sure.

Rep Power: 0 you pay to play... comparing a intake mani by focuz to dh is like comparing a tornado intake kit to a sf turbo kit... that is REDICULOUS... the focuz would make 5hp TOPS... not even designed for cars, just designed to fit and be chrome, this is REDICULOUS...

Rep Power: 0 Ok, so this is not what I am understanding. We have sold them at this price for all our other models, and never hear anything about it, why? Because our manifolds are done by hand and will make more power then any other out there. You pay for what you get and with ours we guarantee power. Tell me some numbers you got from the FocuZ manifold or whatever so we can compare soon. Not downtalking them, but if you guys can show me that they can match our power then we will maybe work something out.

Rep Power: 0 and the throttle bodies dont work do they because of the extensive work on the sensors I've heard. the fact that I havn't seen any dyno sheets from neither of you, is still unbelievable but they also have a right to say something at dh-racing, just as much as you do.

Rep Power: 0 I don't care who makes a Intake manifold and what kind of #'s it produces on other models...Until I see REAL #'s from a dyno for our cars and i know that it fits right, I'll just have to wait because I'll be damned if I get burned again.

Rep Power: 0 Back to the original question...
The manifold plenum is used to tune the intake pulses. There are harmonics set up when the moving air stream is abruptly halted as the intake valve closes. The closing sets up pressure waves that travel back up the runner and get reversed at the plenum. You tune your intake length to have the intake valve open during one of these pressure pulses to "supercharge" the cylinder. Short runners are typically tuned for high rpm, long runners for lower rpm. If you eliminate your plenum, it may be hard to get the pressure pulses to work for you, pulses from the other cylinders would be interfering with each other.

Rep Power: 0 You lose 240 CFM when installing individual throttle bodies. They are nice on more mild setups, but the single TB setup is the best with a tuned manifold for a high HP setup. As for our manifold, believe or don't believe enough of you will have it on your car very soon, I understand it's just the beginning, so being skeptikal is fine with me.
