Is it possible to put a sport trans in a '01 EX w/ VTEC?

I am a total idiot when it comes to these things, so bear with me. I want to put an automatic "sport" transmission (you know, the kind with a "manual/sport mode" and paddle shifters, etc.) in my 2001 Civic EX coupe (VTEC engine, not sure exactly which model) eventually (like when my automatic tranny gives up the ghost, which God willing, should be a few years from now). Is this even possible yet? What do I do? I don't expect to DIY this, but I have friends who are A+ mechanics at our local Firestone Complete Auto Care who could do this for me, if I don't just take it in anyway. I am a noob. Halp.

with enough money anything is possible. i can't wait to see the look on the face of the firestone service department guy when you ask for this lol. i think you would need a shop with a broader range of skills.
