05 civic sport no start problem
I have a problem with my car I'm looking for advice on.
Car died when I was driving, checked the fuse box, the number 6 FI/ECU fuse had blown. Replaced it, immediately blew again. I then unplugged fuel pump relay and it blew, so then I did the main relay and it didn't blow. After a search I found people having trouble with the crank position sensor, and with it disconnected the fuse wouldn't blow and the engine would start.
So I disconnected the crank position sensor, turned the key to on and the fuse didn't blow, tried starting the engine but it won't start.
Does this mean it still could possibly be the crank position sensor? Or could the problem be with another ECU function or wiring?

The main relay supplies power to several components, any one of them (and/or their wiring) could be a problem area.
Fuse 6 supplies power for:
PGMFI relay 1
PGMFI relay 2 (pump)
CKP sensor
CMP sensor
PCM
Fuel injectors
IAC valve
Immobilizer control unit
Everything below PGMFI relay 1 in this list gets powered up when PGMFI relay 1 clicks on.

Surely the cam sensor would have still blown the fuse with only the crank sensor unplugged though?

I'm just a little confused that I have read that the engine should start with it disconnected, yet mine still wouldn't start.

Ok so replace it and all should be well again. And the fuse, don't forget the fuse.
A 6th gen engine will run without it (CKF sensor).
A 7th gen can run without the cam sensor (CMP) connected, but IDK about the crank sensor (CKP). I don't think I've ever tried it myself but I expect it would not run without it.
I'm just a little confused that I have read that the engine should start with it disconnected, yet mine still wouldn't start.
