I have an 03 civic ex manual transmission. Just had new clutch put in. Car ran fine for a month. Now having issues with first, third and fifth gear. First engage half the time, third gear I need to hold clutch, put in gear, take out, then put back in third to engage, and fifth engages once every 10 tries. Has anyone had this issue before?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: transmission issue
I suppose the shifter feels different now for those 3 gears?
Sounds like it may be a cable issue, most likely at the trans end.
Maybe a retainer clip came out, now the cable housing is moving in the bracket?
Need another person to work the shifter while you search in the engine compartment.
Return to your clutch installer for a recheck since they just had it all apart.

Re: transmission issue
This may be off base, but make sure they torqued the clutch on with the right amount of pressure and evenly on all bolts. I wasn't able to go into any gears on my integra with a fairly new clutch because of improper installation.
