Rep Power: 0 05 auto transmission in 01
I'm thinking about buying a 2001 Civic EX sedan automatic that needs a transmission. Car has about 120K miles and looks to be in good shape. The guy is asking $1500. I read that any auto transmission from 01-05 should fit and they have fixed the issues with these transmissions for 04 and 05, but the 04 and 05 are not showing up on as fitting the 01 on the searches at salvage yards or even the sellers on ebay. So two questions. Is $1500 too much to pay, and will an 04 or 05 automatic transmission from a d17a2 equipped civic bolt right on and work properly? Thanks.

Thanks a lot, but the guy sold the car this morning even though I asked him last night to let me know if anyone was interested in the car and before he sold it because I was really interested, and he agreed. Oh well. I have learned new information and that is always a good thing. I probably don't need two 7th gen civics not running at one time though. I am sticking an engine in an 03 EX sedan. Its probably for the best.
