Stallin and low idle

Has anyone found a fix for the stalling problems that the 2k1 civic are experiencing?

I have a 2k1 4-dr civic ex and the car has been experiencing rough idle and stalling tendencies when coming to a stop.

I have read so many complaints about this. And yet no fix is available. Even the dealers are dumb-founded as to what could possibly be causing this problem. Numerous complaints have been posted on www.nhtsa.dot.gov.

I have the car at the dealer. They claim that they can not duplicate the problem. Eventhough I showed them a video tape of the damn idle dropping low. The idle would drop so low that the car hesitates, coughs and wants to stall.

They are perfoming a check fit for the valve clearance to see if this could be giving me the problem. Can this be consider a functional test for an idle problem, or are they just as confused as I am?

I spoke to a mechanic last night with a number of years of experience and I was told that Hondas has had a lot of problems with vacuum pulls.

He suggested that I do a check valve test with respect to the brake booster.

Any help would be appreciated.
