Pinstripe ideas?

alright i bought a hatchback that has the factory pinstripe on it. The car is gray and the stripe is red, the stripes are faded bad to. I know when i peel them off there will be the ghost stripes... My question is, ive done research with no real good answers, is there any products anyone knows about to remove the fade and maybe blend it better? and if all else fails, opinions on a black pinstripe vs a gray?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

This will make short work of the adhesive!...

Then polish or rubbing compound will restore some of the faded paint around the stripe, so there aren't tan lines.
