Re: Throttle body?

Thank you. Do I need to take it off all the way to clean it? My car is an automatic with cruise control of that makes a difference?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

No. Clean it in place on the engine. Only need to remove the rubber tube from it for access.

I use carb and throttle cleaner and a toothbrush or nylon bottle brush.

The important part is to get the area between the housing and the throttle blade (butterfly) clean so the blade doesn't stick closed.
Final wipe down with a shop towel.

Wedge a stick on the gas pedal to keep it on the floor and keep the throttle blade wide open, this makes it easier to clean and use both hands.
