Turn Signal Bulb 7440 or 7443

So i've done the 04-05 Tail Light conversion, and my question is... I'm looking for a Amber Turn Signal Bulb (Non-Led) that will only light up when I apply the turn signal. This is because my rear light is clear and I don't want an amber light on when I'm just driving around. I know the the 7443 is dual filament and the 7440 is single, but will the 7440 fit no problem? If you could give me a link to the product i'm looking for that would be very helpful!

Re: Turn Signal Bulb 7440 or 7443

most auto store have 7440 NA amber bulbs that should work. if it doesnt fit the 7443 socket, then you need to carefully dremel down the knubs on the base of the glass bulb front and back. you could also use a 7443 and disconnect the park light wires (just break them off the bulb). i did this for my front 3457 bulbs in my tycs cause i only wanted the bulb to work as a signal and not park light, but didnt want to mess with the wiring. just be sure to test which wires are for which filament before breaking off the wrong ones lol. usually if the glass is clear, you can trace the contacts to the filament.
