hi im new to this forum. my gas door on my 03 civic would not close. everytime i press the button there is no reaction on the back i wasnt sure if the canadian black pin on fix my fuel door thing would fix this problem too. also my trunk wouldn't open from the same button, but i ignored that as it did not concern me too much. thanks in advance for any help

your post is very confusing do you mean the gas door lever when pushed will not open the door. i had a similar problem what i did was slightly bend the metal part on the door in a little bit and it opend fine.

sorry about the confusion. i meant it would open but the hinge would not lock it back close the mechanical button that opens the gas door does not react with the hinge that normally opens the lock on the gas door, therefore my gas door wont close and stays open. i understand most people with the 7th gen have the problem with the gas door not opening but mine would open but the locking mechanism would not close it back

Take the assembly apart at the handle and see if the cable is broken. If it is order the part from fuel door fix. If it isnt broken take the assembly apart at the back and check it. Either way its broken somewhere. You can try lubricating it too.

Check the status of the black release pin that comes in from the back side (stuck in, or part way in ??)

If it is FDF fixable it will be broken very close to the release lever.

I noticed on my 2010 they made that collar from brass or similar metal now to prevent rusting.
