Rep Power: 0 Thinking about buying civic ,2001 ex automatic
Hey all. I fount a very clean inside and out 2001 ex. It has 135k miles, drives good and mechanic said all looks good, aswell as transmission which has no sign of up coming problems as of now. Price is 2800 , do these cars last? I know a typical civic this wouldnt be a problem but ive heard nightmares about 01s. Honestly just looking to keep it for a good year and put a good 10k miles on it. Then id probably sell it . Im just very skeptical with these transmissions ive read stories of them blowing out of nowhere at as little as 40k miles.. Any suggestion? Yay or neh for situation? Im only 17 and this will be my first car and im paying for everything myself so i really dont want to put it down the drain. Thanks all.

will it last a year?
its a 15 year old car, you might as well flip a coin, it will probably be more accurate then anybodys prediction here

i have had a 2004 civic for 8 years. it was a 1 owner vehicle. it has 225,000 miles on it and other than maintenance, its only needed a starter 1 year ago and head gasket replacement 2 months ago. everything else is perfect. excellent first car for me. i dont know if the 01 are different than 04 transmission, but mine is original and never slips or clunks.
