Rep Power: 0 New Headunit Harness Help! Where do these cords go??
So far I have all the front and rear speakers crimped, but on each piece (the harness and the jvc piece) there are some wires left. can someone tell me where they go?
Harness:
Black - Ground
Orange- Illumination
Blue- Power Antennae or Amp Remote
Orange w/ White Stripe- Dimmer
Red- 12 Volts Switched Power
Yellow- 12 Volts Constant Power
JVC Headunit Piece:
Black- Ground
Yellow- Constant 12V
Red- To accessory terminal in the fuse block (?)
Blue w/ White Stripe- to remote lead of other equipment (?)
Orange w/ White Stripe- To car light control switch
I dont know where half of these go, whether they lay loose or connect to the same or different color? Where should i put the 2 ground wires?

I would (did) connect:
The two black wires
The blue from the harness to the Blue/white stripe from jvc
The two red wires
And the two yellow wires
Do NOT connect the orange wires. You could fry your guages on your dash. Just leave the orange and orange/white wires loose (tape or crimp the ends so you don't short).
I did the same thing as I described and it worked fine.

If you started the car and it works then it SHOULD be fine. Don't go by my word though. I would wait for someone else to comment. I think that the one with the problem is the illumination wire (just orange).

I would take all illumination connections loose, do not turn on your headlights (or parking lamps) and isolate thems as well.
Do not tap into RED or RED/BLK (factory colors)
You can cause damage.

Go with what CraigW said just to be safe. The wires don't do much beneficial anyway. They are just the dimmer wires.
