DIY threads kick ***! ( VSS wire )
They DIY threads have been extremely helpful. Accurate, detailed instructions of how to work on our cars.
I'd like to give a big thank you to all the people who donated time to create DIY's on this site.
Good job.
I've also got one more tidbit to add about the Civic vehicle speed sensor wire (needed for some navigation systems). I looked all over trying to find which cable was the right one. I found the description for a 2005, and tried it in my car but with no success. The stereo shop wouldn't tell me, the honda dealer couldn't find it on schematics, so I called Kenwood and they helped.
I must also say that I am very happy with the support given by the Kenwood techs. They are helpful, quick to answer, follow through and you're not talking to people in India... these seemed to be real Americans that knew somthing about the product they were supporting.
Here it is.. for a 2003 civic
On the fuse/relay panel start at the upper right corner. The second row down of green plugs, all the way on the right side of the box. The wire is blue/white. (that is a blue wire with white striping) In my car there was also a solid blue and white/blue (white wire with blue striping) right next to the blue/white, so be careful which one you tap! I had trouble searching out the VSS wire and getting the right answer, so I figured I'd post about on here for anybody who needs it. My little contribution.
