I had 225/50/16 Goodyear eagle f1 gsd3 tires on my ssr comps ... the backs rubbed if you don't have a camber kit and the fronts will tear up your wheel well covers when making u turns.

Whats the offset on the wheel they're going onto? I've seen 225s fit, I've seen them not fit as well. With a low offset, you can do it. Tire height with a 225/45/16 doesn't play into this as its shorter than stock, but the width will make a major difference.
Use camber as your freind here....your going to want to make sure those tires dont rub at all. You should be fine but those tires are alot smaller then stock so your going to have to slam your car to get no wheel gap.
