My turbo project after internals D17a1 LXmanual UPDATED PICS ON POST # 49 I'm documenting and taking pics of the project as I go along. I won't speculate on numbers till is all done. The job is being done at a shop in Brandon Fl Dynamic Speedlab Work the head P&P valves, ARP bolts etc http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/...tems%20004.jpg Got my own custom intake build with a 75mm TB http://kissimmeemotorsports.com/owne...akecloseup.jpg Done all internals Pistons Sleeves rods etc http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/.../enginetop.jpg Equal lengh manifold being done with Stainelss 3046 8 gauge This is the turbo that's going into my car sc 50 50 trim on the compresor side and 69 trim on the Turbine http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/...tems%20001.jpg My car at the shop http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/...ings%20006.jpg http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/...ings%20007.jpg I have a lot invested on this project and totaly taking all usefull information from this forum, hope is worth it. Not looking at having a 9 second car just a good realiable ballsy civic. Boosting 8-10psi and drive it daily. |
looks like a precision turbo, do u know which one? i.e. sc44, 61, 63 etc |
thats such a cute little intercooler. |
Nice job Mex. Lookin good. |
looks like your doing everything the right way. why only 8 - 10 psi though? with that much invested in new guts you could probably run 15 psi easily with a good headgasket. |

I take good care of my car so I'll go with that psi for awhile till the turbo brakes in and work out all the bugs, than I'll see with a good boost controller and some new axels. Toda: Ibelive is a sc 69 as recomended by the shop. Sp3: Cute it is :) I was told that will help spool up quicker. Dezod: Thanks for all you good information, reseach and development,it realy help me in the final decition making, the same goes for Opto and others that braked the ground for turboing our cars. I recal back on the days 2001 or so when no one made nothing for our cars and ppl was to afraid to do anything to our engines. I just hope this works cause I'm going broke. |

So Hec, when I go down there to let them handle my business, they are gonna use an e-manage? Oh and btw I can't remember but did you say they will powdercoat for me? |

Ohhh you sexy man you, lol. I'm gonna handl my exterior stuff first (since I'm almost done lol) then I'll be rolling down there to let them figure out my car lol. stupid auto.. lololol |
looks great. i cant wait to see the dyno results. i personally would have got a bigger intercooler for a turbo that size though |

Very nice progress  |
when is the expected complation date and what whp are you shooting for? |

That looks awesome and yeah you are right you should let the engine adjust to it first then boost of the psi, wouldnt be a bad idea to look into a new E.C.U. (what kind of ECU are u on right now?) it might not be necessary but it could help a lot. |

gluck with everything....looks real nice so far |
Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement  Abmerop18 This project is supposed to be done by the first week of next month but I'm sure it'll take longer :_doh: Some twicking involbed after a dyno session. I'm not going to rush it till it get's done right. Is killing me though. I'm use to drive my car every day and I realy miss it  FRseeks: A stand along computer will be great addition although it will also be more difficult to tune for now. I'll be running the stock computer and e-manage and run it for awhile till all the bugs are taking care off on the basic set up. I'm watting for the AEM computer to became available and will aloud me some time to save some money. I put so much into this project that is draining my funds. I need a good kind sponsor to help out with the rest of the set up hint ;) hint ;) |
owen your POS |
Hec.... you need to share the love lol. When it's done I'm going with ya to pick it up! =) |

Yeah that is true funds are a bitch I know what you mean, its pretty gay cause recently some guy backed up into cause he hauled ass out of his parking spot to show off and ran right into me and my airbags went off so i have a steering wheel that is taped closed, but I want to get some Underglow, headers, turbocharger, the works, but I also dont want to be driving around with a taped up steering wheel and a new steering wheel with hub is like 250-300 is im lucky and thats for a cheap one........ |
i cant wait to turbo my car..im so jelous i want to see some dyno results  |
Makes me wanna move to Florida. Good luck amigo. :_bow: |
*edit* In reference to abmerop's IC sizing comment... no no no.... his turbo is actually perfect sized for that IC, the pics might make it look small but it is not small by any means... hector what is the flow capacity of the IC again? and like he said he's not planning on boosting that much daily, no need for a huge as IC unless he's planning on pushing close to 20 PSI and only using the car as race use, it would have soo much pressure drop and lag... anywayz, props to you hec even though your not my fav person right now, lol, i'm over it though, i wanna see if when it's done here in orlando  |
Cant wait to see some numbers from that beast.. |

I'm getting a boost controler to dial boost up when need it. I drive my car every day and I just wanted to be reliable and ballsy http://kissimmeemotorsports.com/owne...wanimation.gif |
wow, crazy...you got dual exhaust?? |

do you have automatic? |
Is a manual transasxle |
any updates?? |
what kind of pistons and rods did you install? looking to do the same to my car in the spring.also P&P.and sleeve.not worried about the money..now im curious to find out if i can get a place in nj to fab. a intake manifold for me. |
We have a new beautifull stainless equal lenght mani that just fabricated but because I want to keep the A/C intact I couldn't use it. I'll need to contact Dynamic Speedlab and see how much they want for it. But know that you'll have to remove the A/C compresor. For more info on the internals, perst numbers, prices ,contacts got to the Turbo FAQ on top of this forum. My car should be ready to dyno by the first week on November. |
Well is the second week of november and the fabrication is complete. Now the painfull task of tunning. Here is some updated pictures of the project. http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/turbo/025.jpg http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/turbo/026.jpg http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/turbo/028.jpg http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/turbo/029.jpg http://www.kissimmeemotorsports.com/turbo/024.jpg |
