True, it seems no one trusts anyone else here for shit. Unless you show proof, people are gonna start flaming, bitching, whining, calling you names....

Sweet You dyno your car with thoes mods?

HondaLuver 12-20-2002 01:35 PM

i would like to see proof though

trick000 12-20-2002 01:37 PM

How much weight redux?

PlatCruiser 12-20-2002 01:46 PM

lets see here....

no dyno as of yet... nothing to tune the car yet so no need....when the AFC makes it on the car then yeah tuning will happen.

weight reduction..... all steelies for wheels. 17's are too heavy to race on. No rear seat, no pass seat, no trunk carpet, or jack/spare. Basically the easy things to remove were removed that weren't necessary, school books etc.

proof coming for all you non-belivers

Good job man!! I believed you the whole time!:tup:

PlatCruiser 12-20-2002 02:20 PM

thanks flyriceracer, anyone else not believe?

FWI, reaction time has nothing to do with ET... this is my brother's car he does the racing in it, haven't gotten a crack at it since I go to school in coloardo. soon though if the tracks stay open.

I stated in my previous post....

reaction time has nothing to do with ET. I could have a .500 and still run 15.6 or a 2.2 reaction time and have a 15.6

CarbonFly 12-20-2002 02:53 PM

I see what you are saying. I'm thinking of the race itself it matters. When you are going against the other person. Thanks for clearing that up.

MadWheel 12-20-2002 03:10 PM

that's known as bracket racing (going against another car) when you're racing for ETs then it doesn't matter at all

PlatCruiser 12-20-2002 05:16 PM

is there anyone else faster 7th gen wise NA? if so please list the mods you thought gave you the most gain....the header is the best to date on the LX IMO

the overall race would be better if he did indeed get a better reaction time. But it would not effect his E.T. R.T, dial in time and E,T are all big factors in bracket racing though.

SaiyanMatador 12-20-2002 06:13 PM

hey all thats my time slip, hehe im very happy, thank god i ran that time, now i have something to show for the so called slow civics, well just to let you know, that .7 reaction time, is not normal for me, i was only trying to get my 60 ft down, and it worked, now my regular reaction times when are .5's and .6's just for all your information thanks for the posts guys and thanks for the praises im not finished yet by the way, so ill be posting more often just to let you all know, later
eric

CapYoda 12-20-2002 06:43 PM

impressive.

0-60 of 2.3 isn't too bad at all.

reaction time doesn't factor into ET like everyone stated, timing starts when you pass the line...

SaiyanMatador 12-20-2002 07:34 PM

the car does have a couple more tenths in her with a better 60ft.

StLVtec 12-20-2002 08:39 PM
weight reduction..... all steelies for wheels. 17's are too heavy to race on
This is not exactly right.

Your steelies weight somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-19 lbs. I can go out and buy many 17" rims that weight less than 18 lbs.
What you probably meant to say was that your 14" steelies have less inertia than a 17" rim. This is the statement you want. The reasoning behind the smaller rim and faster time lies in the torque required to turn the wheels. Smaller rims have a smaller moment (torque) arm and therefore provide faster starts. Your 14's take less torque to turn, so they get rolling faster. Smaller rims also give you more sidewall... drag racing is one of very few places where big sidewalls are a good thing.... They can "bunch up" (for lack of a better term) so there is a recoil effect and less tirespin. Low sidewall tires are not as flexable since they have less of a sidewall to compress. This is the reason pro drag cars have huge sidewalls and small rims.
You're partially right... 14's are better than 17's to drag race on... but not because they're lighter... it's because they have less inertia.
