Dyno-day results So I went and had my car dyno'd today with a few of my friends from ClubRSX. I figured I would have my car dyno'd now to get sort of a base-line comparison after i do my headswap. results are: 110.52whp, and 98.30 w/ the rev. limiter hiting about 6.6-6.7? I was surprised cause I was worried I wouldnt make over 100whp....but I did  My Mods: AEM S-R intake, OBX header, straight-pipes(no cat), and axle-back exhaust. still have stock pipes between header and exhaust - but i figure its about the same restriction as having a cat on a larger size pipe...kinda...anyways. Car was dyno'd at Sunshine Performance in Killeen,Tx Here's a short....short clip...cause my camera battery died before they finished my 1 run. I got compliments from some of the guys at the shop about my exhaust - guess they were expecting it to sound bit more ricey. :giggle: SEE VIDEO HERE!!!!! -Mike D.- <<--myspace YouTube - 2004 honda civic dyno run (short) <<--Youtube |
congrats on hittting 100 my goal is 200 for my new motor |
110 whp with an auto? |
indeed :) ive got the dyno print-out, but no scanner. So i'm going to try and take a pic of it and see if that will work |
I got to be closer to 120 then!!! |
what type of dyno is it? |
dynojet.....dyno. |
nice |
thats a bit hard to believe, since most autos dynoed around 90whp stock. i made 104whp at one time with built head, all the boltons, and fuel + cam tuning. but good job |
hmmm.. not bad at all for an auto. Gearbox: do you have a non-vtec motor? there's a motor with 115hp and the other motor comes with 127hp? atleast in canada. |
yea, to be honest i was really surprised it dyno'd that much over 100 - cause i always hear ppl talkin about how automatics dyno really slow (no shit?!) but yeah, im happy for now...kinda lol next is head build EX head, plus crower stage2 cam, stage2 valvetrain, possibly AEM cam-gear, aaand.....i think thats it? |
gearbox has a EX too. and dont dynojets read higher than other dynos? |
seemed pretty acurate to me - one of the guys i went with has a brand new Si, with an intake - and dyno'd 183whp. and another guy with an RSX Type-S with K-pro un-tuned(i think) ran 211whp. but i dont know much about them, so i could be wrong. |
so an auto and a non vtec motor pulled 110whp? |
non vtec, auto, making that much power? hmmm.... |
yeah thats what im thinkin. didnt dezod dyno an auto at around 90whp? |
heres a full video of my pull that one of the other guys that was there recorded. YouTube - 2004 honda civic dyno run (short) |
wow.....thats hard to believe but congratz man...I wonder what I'd dyno at with my 5sp. but its not gonna matter :( |
sunshines dyno always seems to read high. |
:susp: |
^ uh huh |

just odd for an n/a auto with minor bolt ons to hit 110 |
