hey civic 2k1 you plan on getting a lip kit..???

TRIZ 11-25-2006 03:35 PM

very clean, man... i'm glad you went kswap instead of turbo.

how much was the motor, and how much did everything (including the motor and install) end up costing you?

EMK20a2 11-25-2006 03:48 PM

I did all of the install work myself. By the time I added up the engine, Kpro, Race header, Intake, 2hrs of proffessional tunning, and all of the other misc stuff I had right around 8K in everything. IMO it was well worth it considering the engine had less than 10K miles.

The DIYs help, but it helps to have a general mechanical background. I have done a bit of work on civics (more than most) and I had the Helms for both cars. It is a must to have ALL of the right tools, and autozone will loan you most of them. You can't really put it in wrong, it is not like you are tearing the engine apart and working on internals that have clearnaces to the mm or less. It is almost like one big bolt-on LOL

looks sexy!!

I did run low 14s, 14.2 to be exact. The conditions were 100 degree temps, and it was my very first time at the track. My 60' was 2.4. I am not making excuses, but I would say the car is deffinately capable of more. I have beat/hung with a few proven sub 14 sec cars. But....I did not make the car for the purposes of straight line speed. I enjoy the hell out of it on the road/autox courses:rockon: .

For those that missed it the 1st time around here is a vid from a dig to around 110mph. I know it does not look like much more than 100, but the camera angle is from the passenger seat, so it is 5-8mph slow all around. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx8sIR6TCyY

EMK20a2 11-25-2006 06:44 PM

Just to explain all of the lights on the cluster. Only one of them are from the swap. My brake light, and ABS lights are on because I have ABS disconnected for the track (just replug in the fuse). The SRS light has been on for a while and I am to lazy to figure out why. The only light that is on from the swap is the immobalizer light because it is turned off through the Kpro. I can get that light fixed if I get the Immobalizer flashed for my key, then I will be able to turn it on in the Kpro

goodtimes 11-25-2006 07:07 PM

looks good dude love it.

Civicman1988 11-25-2006 07:16 PM

looks good

TemjinX2 11-25-2006 08:16 PM

the swap looks hot. i'm thinking of going k swap in my integ or building up my b18c1 later on.

K/Turbo 11-25-2006 09:15 PM

Clean swap man! Are you gonna boost in the future?

EMK20a2 11-25-2006 10:20 PM

No boost, from what I have seen with this swap a front wheel drive cannot handle much more hp/weight than my car. Traction is a pure bitch, I would not even want to try to boost it. Besides this car is going to be a pure track car someday, so boost is not optimal. I can tell you what I am possibally going to do:

THIS WINTER:
-SI rear brake conversion
-steel lines on all four corners
-Falken 615s

NEAR FUTURE:
-tranny rebuild with bad a$$ sh!t
-quaif ATB
-all of the carbon fiber parts I can get and then paint them to match the car (-150-200lbs)
-IPS k2 cams
-new intake manifold

All of this will get me about 30 more whp and make the car alot lighter.

MAYBE SOMEDAY:
-tein flex or monoflex dampers
-16x7 rims with race tires

tuner04civic 11-25-2006 11:09 PM
