Carbon Fiber Hood Help.

Ok well I get all my stuff from a local audio guy. It's where I got my wheels, stereo, etc..

Anyways I told him I needed a GOOD Carbon Fiber hood, and he got back to me today and said $199 which sounds WAY too cheap right? Should I try this, and if it doesn't fit, get him to send it back?

I can get the hood clear coated for $50 from a guy I used to deal with Mustangs with...

Think I should get the hood for $199? Or what should I ask?

that sounds way too good to be true IMHO...might want to check his sources...if you can

i bought my hood for 50 bucks its beautiful just make an agreement with him in writing that if you put up the cash and arent satisfied that he will take it back AND refund the total ammount without any restocking bullshite

^ good idea. if you like it, just get extra clear coat on it - it saves a lot of bs with fogging and chipping for several more months than it would otherwise.

OH YEAH a side note HOOD PINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
chances are its a cheap lay of carbon and at speed it would seperate, but if you have hood pins it dosent matter, so make sure you get some before you start driving around

WheN i told him to get me a price for a hood. I told him GOOD carbon fiber hood, and I watched him write it down and stuff... But I am definetly getting hood pins either way. If he can get me a hood for $199 and I pay that guy an extra $50 for an extra clear coat.. That is still only $250 or so. I wonder if I should see how much he could get me a trunk for..

yea a cf hood and trunk combo looks sweet.

i personally would stick to seibon and vis but you can always get an agreement in writing and go from there.

Ok.. I'm going to make sure the hood wont fade or anything, by makin sure he'll replace it if it does.

The guy that can reclearcoat it for $50 said he will:put another coat of clear coat on it, drill hood pin holes, drill washer nozel holes, and install everything for $100. So the hood will cost me around $300 for installation and everything.
