I think that the black hood and top you are referring to was shown on the concept car, but I don't foresee the production car having those features. I would think the entire car will be one color.

So this pic. would be the Si or the regular EX,LX models?

the dealer is probably going to crack you over msrp. why don't you wait a while before you buy? just a thought?

I used to work at this dealership. I know everyone from the GM down. With a few exceptions, I can buy new cars from them for $300 over invoice without any negotiations required. The few exceptions I am referring to are S2Ks, Odysseys, and other limited production vehicles (i.e., the 2006 Si). When I signed up on the waiting list we briefly discussed price. I told them that I didn't expect to get the car for $300 over invoice because I know that the car is going to be initially produced in low numbers and there will be plenty of consumers will be pay full price for the vehicle. So, we pretty much determined that I will buy the car from them at MSRP. At MSRP they are making about a grand, not including dealer incentives.

The reason I am not waiting a while is because now is the best time to sell my wife's '05--low mileage and perfect condition.

Are you talking about test driving one, or are you planning on buying one? I am sure the dealerships are going to reserve test drives on this vehicle to "serious" buyers only.

He wasn't given any brochures or anything because Honda wants to wait until they officially debut the car in November.

I put down $1000. Once they have a VIN # for the color we want (silver) we can go sign all the contracts. Then when the car comes in it is just a matter of them cleaning it and handing over the keys.

I really do want one, but I'm sure I could weasel my way in for a testdrive :o
