white2K2EX 08-17-2005 07:32 PM

You're buying a car without even test driving it?

Don't know yet. We simply put down a deposit. As soon as they get a VIN # we can do the contracts.

No, we haven't driven the '06 Si, but there really isn't any need to. We know that it is going to be better than the '05 Si, and we've driven one of those before.

Test drive an RSX-S, add LSD. Done. Whats they're to test drive, for all intents and purposes all they did was repackage the Type S.

Exactly. Its a RSX-S with 10hp less. Funny thing is it may be faster than an RSX-S cuz it should weigh bout 100 lbs less. Will depend on the gearing.

Don't know the cost yet. Dealer is still waitin to get that info. Should be about $1000 more than the '05s.

k20txem2 08-17-2005 08:45 PM

Ill race you when you get it :-D

quick silver 08-17-2005 08:56 PM

^ I'll race ya now in my '04. Peep my sig...you'll see I have a K20 too.

quick silver 08-17-2005 08:58 PM

Hey...wtf is my sig? I got it "enabled".

EM2typeflex 08-17-2005 09:04 PM

I dont know 06 si might have an advantage over the rsx because of that lsd, unless rsx's are coming out with lsd's to.

CiViCPrAnInG2k1 08-17-2005 09:24 PM

^^^ ur sig only shows 1st post of every page once.

cubanmike26 08-17-2005 09:25 PM

Limited slip diferential eh? Never driven one of those, must be fun.

So, what's the name on the Si's? I'm guessing...$21-$23K maybe?....

What's the name, or what's the price? An '05 Si sells for $19,835. I'd imagine an '06 will be under $21K. It can't be any more because then it will cost about as much as an RSX-S, and that can't happen.

RSX-S' don't have LSDs. However, ITR's do. Let's think about this more:

'06 Si:
200 hp
TBD tq
2800 lbs (est)
LSD

'05 RSX-S:
210 hp
140 tq
2840 lbs

If the gearing is nearly identical, I'd give the edge to the Si because of the LSD. I think it is all going to boil down to the gearing.

ragingSPAM 08-17-2005 10:16 PM

^^ what are u talking about...the 04-05 rsx-s came with lsd...they added it in the 2004 year model...and its been continuing on...with the emergence of the 05 model with the 210 hp (k20Z1) it came with an LSD...jus a little info there for ya...but good luck with the 06 si bro

bOoStEd042dr 08-17-2005 10:19 PM

Before you go tryin to set me straight, make sure you have your facts straight. You are wrong. No US RSX-S has factory LSD. Period.

2002excpe 08-18-2005 08:24 AM

You can buy an aftermarket LSD for $900 or so, but they don't come with it. Quafie PN QUA-60309190

There are a number of different options concerning an LSD: ITR, Mugen, Quaife, etc. However, the bottom line is RSX-S' (02-05s) do not come with factory LSD.

For those of you who don't know, Honda won't be unvailing the '06 Si until SEMA in Las Vegas on November 1-4. Dealerships wont start seein the car until late November to early December.

Can't wait to see what the actually production car looks like. Honda says it will retain 90% of what the concept car had.

_Viper_ 08-18-2005 09:56 AM

Isnt LSD a drug ????? dating back in the 60's ????

Where did ya see it? I am friends with a Sales Manager at a local Honda dealership--he and I used to sell cars together. :giggle: Anyways, this past Monday he got to go somewhere up in LA and attended a seminar that talked about the Si and then he got to drive it. He wasn't given any brochures or anything because Honda wants to wait until they officially debut the car in November.

I put down $1000. Once they have a VIN # for the color we want (silver) we can go sign all the contracts. Then when the car comes in it is just a matter of them cleaning it and handing over the keys.
