New Sidemarkers**PICTURES**

Hey, So I got my local autobody shop guy to put in my sidemarkers, they are jdm dc5r ones. I have to get them wired up yet but he did an AMAZING JOB, i suggest you all use the dc5 sidemarker template if you want it done properly, I can use the clips for it and it comes off just like oem ones. Lemme know what you think, I will have better pics tommorow when the car is washed and not at such bad angles...
EDIT< damn pictures are too big hang on

silverem2 08-11-2005 10:02 PM

thanks, he did it almost perfect. i just gotta do a tiny round touchup with the dremel for around the corners

CivicSky 08-11-2005 10:11 PM

Nice!!!! I get a clear ones for a while already and have been wanting to install them. Just afraid to drill holes on the fenders. How much did they cost anyway?

gearbox 08-11-2005 10:25 PM

holy crap mine looks nothing like that cut. I guess thats why hes the pro haha. Looks great. way better than clear ones.

silverem2 08-11-2005 10:56 PM

yea, he is an amazing bodyshop guy, he specializes alot in hotrods, so he does awsome work, the lights cost me 40 dollars canadian, and body work 40 also, but imo it was WELL worth it, I could have never done a job like that, when i put them in the snap in and work soo good.

silverem2 08-11-2005 10:56 PM

I promise to have better pictures also tommorow

gearbox 08-11-2005 11:00 PM

if you want them to light up better, get the raybrig 2x hyper CLEAR 194 bulbs from www.racinglab.com they are great bulbs. Clear glass but 2x brighter than stock.

silverem2 08-11-2005 11:02 PM

awsome, thanks, Ill keep that in mind, like i said thier not wired up yet, but will be soon

gearbox 08-11-2005 11:07 PM

i love mine they are so bright and match the front signal at night. People stare all the time when they see em on a civic :)

silverem2 08-11-2005 11:49 PM

I still have to wire mine up yet, but taht will take like 5 min

Berg_Tomaru 08-12-2005 05:15 AM

HondaKorn 08-12-2005 06:02 AM

cubanmike26 08-12-2005 06:06 AM

Yeah, that looks like a very nice job on the fender...I think I want side markers too :)

silverem2 08-12-2005 11:52 AM

they are soo worth it, I was a little unsure at first, but im loving them more and more, plus ill take pictures when I get home from work.....also, Berg_Tomaru..can you show me the harness and how yours is wired up? mabey I can get you to get me a factory one from honda

ragingSPAM 08-12-2005 12:09 PM

i can do that...i too used the template from the dc5...i use snap-on air tools to drill my hole...i have em wired up too...but only thing is u cant have them blink and be on all the time...unless u use a relay...but u can have them on all the time or just off and blink when u signal...i have it wired oem style where it only blinks...the tools i used were:
body file, di-grinder with a cone tip, rotary cutter, air drill with different bit sizes and sheet metal nibblers to remove metal where it is needed...ill take some pix after i wash my car tomorrow

gearbox 08-12-2005 12:20 PM

you CAN have them on and blink. just hook one wire to signal power, and the other to parking light power. No relay required!

ragingSPAM 08-12-2005 12:55 PM

...uhhh u cant do that gearbox...have u tried wiring them?....cuz one wire is the ground and the other is the live wire...u can only have one wire either on the parking light or on the signal...i've tried it does not work

gearbox 08-12-2005 01:08 PM

i've tried it and it DOES work. Both of the sidemarker wires are hooked to power. One to signal power (green), the other to parking light wire (red). When one is being used, the other acts as a false ground. You obviously haven't tried it or you will see it works.

ragingSPAM 08-12-2005 01:11 PM

icic...i wasnt too sure if that would blow my bulbs or something...so i just went oem...so do i connect the ground wire on the sidemarker to green or red and the green wire on sidemarker to green or red?...i gotta try this...it'll by tyte if it works and ill hook u up with rep points

silverem2 08-12-2005 05:27 PM

also, I know i could do it, but i couldnt do it that good, and he did that in under 1 hour

ragingSPAM 08-12-2005 06:51 PM

i did mine under an hour and i got them wired up in that time period...heh...sorry for braggin...jus hadda get it out of my systemmm lol

nick95673 08-12-2005 06:57 PM

alot of diy's take more balls than talent. i have the skills to do all but am scurrrrrred to cut the body

ragingSPAM 08-12-2005 07:01 PM

not to flame but if u've done it before than why are u scared of cutting into the body...and if u have the skills it shouldnt be a problem to cut into the body because u know u can do it...like i did...heh...but hey everyone is cautious when it comes to cutting into fenders of a new car

doesn't matter as long as one is connected to green and the other to red.

ragingSPAM 08-12-2005 07:31 PM

icic...since they are both considered live wires i guess u can have a continuous flow

gearbox 08-12-2005 07:35 PM

when one wire is used for power, the other power wire acts as a "ground."

This will make signals flash in sequence with front signal when parking lights off. When parking lights on, sidemarker will be on. When parking lights are on and signal is used, it will flash alternately with the front signal.

AzNmiKex215 08-15-2005 01:33 AM

Where can i get this template?

I bought the Sidemaker and the Bulb/Socket peice at www.jhpusa.com

Is that all i need? What about the wiring?

ragingSPAM 08-15-2005 02:08 AM
